Our Goal
Yoruba Saxon, the film production company led by A-list power-couple David and Jessica Oyelowo needed a site redesign to showcase their current and upcoming work. Their small but mighty team needed a platform that could support the tailored design and provide an editing experience that felt familiar and had a gentle learning curve. Our goal was to not only nail the technical requirements, but to also produce an aesthetic that aligns with their desire to tell stories that are often suppressed or ignored.

Collaboration
We had the pleasure of working with JB at Tyke Brand Studio on the redesign of the site. Her world-class branding work was the foundation of the design; utilizing various details and motifs to communicate Yoruba Saxon’s commitment to disrupting the film industry by breaking conventions and telling evocative stories about race, inequality, and the human experience.

Custom Build Considerations
With all of the awesome design elements and features we wanted to implement a custom site was needed as opposed to something that was template based (think Squarespace, Wix Studios, etc). That being said the team’s ability to edit and keep the site updated was a key priority, so we made sure to integrate the proper features to make that possible.
