Our Goal

We wanted to capture the essence of a growing event right outside of our studio doors. The OurSpace Juneteenth celebration peaked in participants each year right as the sun was setting so we planned ahead for the optimal lighting and energy!

Film Day

We decided to shoot the festival with our cinema camera which has amazing dynamic range, filmic look, and everything else you could want in a camera! The added weight of this large camera allowed for an organic handheld look which harkens to historic footage of events in the past.

The Edit

Because we didn’t have a voice over or other elements to incorporate we crated a montage of the events in the day to create a cohesive experience for the viewer, the general idea of showing what the vibes of the day were. We time hopped to create interesting pacing and overall viewing experience.
