Creative Sound Solutions – Speaker Ad

Our Goal

We were tasked to create a video promoting the popular 1TD-X speaker for CSS. We have an extensive history of creating content for them and managing their social media so we were thrilled to work with them on this! We wanted to find a balance between a firm call to action and an informative video for potential customers.

Film Day

We shot this in a very typical living room to give the feeling our subject wasn’t in a production environment, but rather a home like the target audience. We staged the room lightly and kept it feeling natural. We filmed it on a beautiful high-end cinema camera for a clean commercial look. We then lit it so it would offer a nice punch, but also not overpower the natural feeling we were going for. Audio was recorded live and wanted to have it sound clear and natural so we had a boom mic above the actors face just out of camera view.

The Edit

We took the best takes of the script and combined them into a solid complete video. Once we finished that we added B-roll and zoom effects to break up the footage and hide the cuts. We kept the pace moving with minimal pausing to hold attention during the ad play.

The color grade was on the lighter side to give a feeling of a more airy and inviting scene, but made sure the exposure was still dense enough to give visual impact and honor the tones of our RAW footage.
