GiantMouse Knives – Zoobie – Social Video

Our Mission

To capture video showcasing a new knife inspired by a well loved bar that it’s named after. The goal was to capture the essence of the space while showing details and the quality of the new knife to promote its launch.

Film Day

We filmed on location at Zoobie’s during active business hours so we had to work around the existing seeing setup and active business being done and be courteous to patrons.

Because the location was very dim, we needed to add additional lighting. We used a minimal setup with a lot of care given to make sure we got the light we needed to craft an image, but were not overtaking the space.

We used our cinema camera which gives amazing detail and beautiful quality, but requires more care to get great results. Our team was able to streamline the setup so we were in and out of the location very efficiently but also created the awesome footage you will see in the video below.

A close-up of a hand holding a black handle with the embossed word Granhaus, reminiscent of premium GiantMouse Knives. The blurred background shows what appears to be food on a plate.

The Edit

With goal in mind and our preproduction squared away the edit was very straight forward. The main thing we spent our creative energy in the edit was the sound design.

With the venue being noisy and conversations of patrons happening nearby we opted to record audio in post to and add in the editing phase. The noise of the knife opening, glass clinking, background ambient bar sounds, etc were all added after the fact. The art was making them feel real but also add to the depth and immersion of the scenes playing out in the video.
